DIY Bath & Body Products

Making your own bath and body products is easy to do and saves money over store bought products. The best part is you know what is going into your products and what isn't. Many store brands are sadly nothing more than chemical filled jars, with fake fragrance and added colors. Since the skin is the largest organ in your body, treat it right with some of these great recipes.

Foaming Hand Soap

  • 3 Tbls Castile Liquid Soap
  • 1 Tbls carrier Oil
  • 10 Drops Choice of Essential Oils
  • Add the ingredients to foam soap bottle
  • fill most of the way with water, leaving 1 inch from the top.
  • Cover and Shake before use to re-disperse oils & water.

Body Butter

  • With a mixer, whip 1 cup coconut oil,
  • 3 Tbls Shea Butter, 1 Tbls Vitamin E oil
  • Until fluffy. Then add 12 drops of your choice
  • of essential oils, then mix on low  until combined.
  • Best stored in a glass jar, in a cool location.

Bath Salts

  • Makes enough for one -16 ounce jar
  • Add 2 Cups Epsom Salt
  • 1/4 Cup Baking Soda
  • 16-18 drops essential oil of choice
  • Mix well then add 1/2 cup to running bath water.

Sugar Scrub

  • In a bowl mix 1.5 cup sugar
  • 1/2 carrier oil (almond, grapeseed, apricot)
  • 20 drops essential oil of choice.
  • Stir well then add to one 16 oz jar or two 8 oz jars. I love mason jars for this.
  • Then add 2 Tbls carrier oil to the top, to keep the scrub from drying out.

Body Wash

  • To an 8 ounce container
  • Add 7 ounces castile soap
  • 1 Tbls Vitmain E oil
  • 15 drops essential oil of choice.
  • Then shake well to combine.
